Trade Accounts Explained

A practical guide to how trade accounts work at Aqua-Heat, covering pricing, credit terms and who they’re for, plus how to set one up at our Hereford and Ross-on-Wye branches.

A trade account isn’t required to shop at Aqua-Heat, but if you’re buying regularly it changes how you deal with us: trade pricing, credit terms, and a faster process at the counter instead of paying in full every visit. Here’s what a trade account actually gets you, and how to set one up.

What is a trade account?

A trade account is an arrangement for regular buyers, set up with agreed pricing and payment terms rather than paying in full at the counter on every visit. It’s built for anyone buying consistently, not just occasionally, and it’s set up once rather than negotiated each time you’re in branch.

Who can apply for one?

Trade accounts aren’t limited to tradespeople. Plumbers and heating engineers are the most common applicants, but builders, landlords, and homeowners taking on substantial DIY or renovation work regularly are just as welcome to apply.

What you get with a trade account

Trade pricing on regular purchases, agreed credit terms rather than paying at the point of sale each time, and a faster counter process once your account is set up. Exact terms vary depending on your buying pattern, so it’s worth talking it through with the team at either branch rather than assuming a standard package applies to everyone.

Trade account vs paying as you go

Factor Trade account Paying as you go
Pricing Trade rates on regular purchases Standard retail pricing
Payment Invoiced on agreed terms Paid at time of purchase
Setup Application required None, walk in and buy
Best for Regular buyers, tradespeople, landlords Occasional or one-off purchases

FAQs

Is there a minimum spend to open a trade account?

Requirements can vary, so it’s best to ask the team at either branch for the current details rather than assume a fixed figure.

It’s a straightforward process. Ask at either branch and our team can talk you through the application in person.

Not necessarily. Arrangements can vary depending on circumstances, so it’s worth asking in branch rather than assuming you don’t qualify.
